Paraboot Shoe Care

How to look after your Paraboot shoes

Clean your shoes

To start with remove the laces. This will make the shoes easier to clean since the laces can trap dirt. Clearing the area will also help keep the uppers looking more consistent.

Next with a brush or damp sponge scrub your shoes clean. Keeping the leather clean is the most important step before polishing your shoes. It also stops debris from marking the leather.

Polishing

Using the right polish will help you achieve best results. The ones made by Paraboot have been specifically designed to help nourish and soften the leathers.

It provides better results and is also nicer to use because it has a nicer smell compared to more low end shoe polish.

We have a range of Paraboot shoe cream polishes available for sale in our shop.

Use shoe trees

Sweat and rain are two of the main threats to leather. You can prolong the life of your shoes if you use unvarnished shoe trees to absorb any moisture. If your shoes are wet you should simply wipe away any excess moisture and leave them to dry at room temperature.

Using shoe trees also helps to maintain the shape of the shoes.

Cedar wood is the best type to use since this is the best at absorbing odours and moisture.

Resoling

If your shoes are correctly looked after then it's possible for them to last a lifetime, if you resole them.

We recommend getting it done by the Paraboot factory because they have the same sole units and can offer the best results. They'll make the shoes come back looking like new within reason.

The process does take a little while since they will need to be sent by us to the factory in France.

Please contact us if you would like us to help you manage the process for you. The turnaround time and price is subject to valuation and how busy the factory is, but like most good things in life it's worth waiting for.
